Meet Chrystal

Chrystal Aranda

Howdy! My name is Chrystal Aranda, awaiting licensure as an LMFT Associate, and I am a bilingual therapist at Treehaven Counseling, supervised by Rebecca Ray, LMFT-S (Lic. #203666). I am a Houston native and proud first-generation college graduate. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University and completed my graduate training in Couple, Marriage, and Family Therapy at Texas Tech University. My education may have taken me across Texas, but my heart always seems to find its way back to College Station.

I especially enjoy working with teens, college students and young adults, single mothers, Latino men, and second-generation children of immigrant parents. As a bilingual therapist, I offer services in both English and Spanish and have a particular appreciation for the ways culture, family, identity, and generational experiences can shape how we understand ourselves and our relationships.

At the heart of my work is a love for language and connection. I believe the words we use matter because they can shape the stories we tell about ourselves, the way we understand our struggles, and even what we believe is possible for our future. As a Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and Narrative therapist, I enjoy helping clients recognize strengths and possibilities that may have been overshadowed by the problem, while exploring and reshaping the stories that no longer serve them.

My style as a therapist is jovial, curious, collaborative, and genuine. I believe therapy can hold difficult conversations while still leaving room for laughter, personality, and human connection. I love getting to know my clients and creating a space where they can genuinely be themselves. At the same time, I am not afraid to challenge clients, ask the curious question, or plant a seed that may encourage them to see themselves, their relationships, or their circumstances a little differently.

Outside of the therapy room, I’m a big-time foodie, traveler, country music fan, and avid tennis player. If you can’t find me at Treehaven, there’s a pretty good chance you’ll find me on a tennis court or at a Jon Pardi concert if he happens to be in town (four times and counting!).

I believe therapy is ultimately a conversation about where you have been, where you are now, and where you would like to go next. My goal is to meet you with curiosity, connection, and maybe a little humor along the way as we discover what moving forward can look like for you. Thanks and Gig ‘em!
