Ana Garcia

Hi! I'm Ana Garcia, a Licensed Professional Counselor (Lic. #83001) based in Texas. Having navigated my own life's challenges, I understand the complexities of managing everyday stressors. This personal experience fuels my passion for self-care and mental health. Outside of my practice, I seize any chance to move my body—most often through dancing! I also cherish the time spent binge-watching favorite shows with my daughter and catching up with friends and family. I am in network with BCBS, Cigna, Aetna, and United/Optum.

As a therapist, my goal is to create a safe and non-judgmental space for clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I believe that each individual has the capacity for growth and change, and my role is to facilitate this process by providing support, guidance, and tools for self-discovery. I utilize an integrative approach, drawing from various therapeutic modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based practices, and psychodynamic therapy. I am committed to creating a safe and supportive environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to overcome their obstacles and achieve their personal goals.

Throughout my years of practice, I have developed expertise in several areas including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. I understand that each person's experience is unique and therefore tailor my approach to meet their individual needs. My clients often describe me as warm, empathetic, and able to provide practical strategies for managing their symptoms.

I hold a Master of Education in Mental Health Counseling from Lamar University. I have also completed extensive post-graduate training in trauma-informed therapy and mindfulness-based interventions. Additionally, I regularly attend workshops and conferences to stay updated on the latest research and techniques in the field.

My personal philosophy centers around the belief that every individual has the capacity for growth and healing. I strive to create a therapeutic environment that is warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental, ensuring that my clients feel safe to explore their thoughts and emotions. I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches, tailoring my methods to meet the unique needs of each client. Whether it's Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Techniques, or Solution-Focused Therapy, my goal is to empower clients to find their own path to well-being and resilience. I am committed to supporting my clients as they navigate their journey towards a more fulfilling and balanced life.

I believe that effective counseling is a process that takes time; that's why my clients typically stay in counseling for at least six months. My approach focuses on creating a safe space where clients feel truly heard and understood. Building a strong rapport is essential for vulnerability and growth. I employ Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to guide my clients toward personal development. Each session is designed to leave clients equipped and motivated to take the necessary steps for their growth.
